Biography of Paul E. Borowski for Smithtown Historical Society (7/11/16):
Paul E. Borowski is a dedicated community advocate for the Hauppauge community and its surrounding areas. He has been called by some as “The Voice of Hauppauge” and the “Unofficial Mayor of Hauppauge”, if there was one.
He is a Hauppauge High School Alumnus and has received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany and MBA from Pace University. Paul is currently a Vice President and Director of Credit & Portfolio Risk for Newtek Business Services Corp. and has spent 34 years in his banking and finance career. Paul is also a member of the Hauppauge Industrial Association and Risk Management Association-Long Island Chapter.
Paul has been very involved giving back to the community through being a board member on various foundations, including the Hauppauge Educational Foundation, Courtney Sipes Memorial Foundation and the Rose & Edward J. Borowski Memorial Scholarship. He is also the President of the Eastern Smithtown Republican Club, a Eucharistic Minister at St. Thomas More R.C. Church in Hauppauge and has been very active in the Hauppauge School District, Town of Smithtown and Suffolk County at large. The common tread of Paul’s involvement in these organizations is making the Hauppauge community a better place to live and work. Paul has been recognized for his contributions and has received the 2011 Hauppauge High School Distinguished Alumni Award (Inducted into Wall of Honor and Presented Keynote Address at Hauppauge High School Graduation), Hauppauge Patch’s Top Ten People to Know in Hauppauge and Employee Community Service Award.
