October 14th: A Time Traveler’s Guide to Smithtown’s Roots
Discover the rich tapestry of Smithtown’s early history in an enlightening lecture, presented by our new Town Historian, Mayor Richard Smith. Go on a journey through time as we explore Smithtown’s diverse past. From the early Native American inhabitants, to the legendary arrival of Richard “Bull” Smith, the tumultuous times of British Occupation, and its rediscovery by NYC, this lecture promises a comprehensive view of our town’s foundation and transformation. Bring your questions and curiosity to delve deeper into the fascinating history of Smithtown.
This lecture is open to the public at no cost; light refreshments will be served.

While we’re skipping the traditional egg hunt, we’re introducing a kinder Easter Festival filled with delightful activities for the whole family. Leashed dogs welcome!
Egg-citing Rewards: After completing the scavenger hunt, children will be rewarded with two special Easter eggs, symbolizing the joy of the season. See you there with baskets full of smiles and laughter! Rain date on March 31st.

St Patrick’s Day is fast approaching, and with it comes the Smithtown Historical Society’s annual Irish Luck on the Farm event (March 9th from 12-4 PM). There is something for everyone to enjoy including: a petting zoo, talented Irish step dancers, traditional peat fires, face painting, children’s crafts and games, and food and craft vendors. March 4th – WWII Movies & Movie Stars
Join historian Keith Matturro as he discusses WWll Movies & Movie Stars. The presentation includes a discussion of wartime and post-war films, propaganda, stereotypes and actors, as well as celebrities who served in uniform.
All lectures are free and open to the public. Lectures start promptly at 7PM at the Frank Brush Barn (located at 211 East Main Street, Smithtown).
Donations suggested. Light Refreshments will be served.
