Fall Lecture: Long Island Railroads and Smithtown

Monday, October 23, 7:00 pm – Long Island Railroad and Smithtown – David D. Morrison

David D. Morrison is a retired LIRR Branch Line Manager, founder and past president of the Long Island Rail Road Historical Society, charter member of the Railroad Museum of Long Island and a member of the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum Station Restoration Committee. He is the author of several books on the various branches of the Long Island Rail Road and has conducted historical railroad station tours on Long Island under the auspices of the New York Transit Museum. Captivated by the architectural beauty, charm and history of the LIRR stations, Morrison has photographed LIRR stations over the years including the St. James constructed in 1873. An expert on all aspects of the Long Island Railroad, David will share with the audience photographs, history and interesting anecdotes about the LIRR, especially relating to our area.

Light refreshments to be served. All lectures free and open to the public!
