Adult Volunteers

A great way to get involved in your community, we know we couldn’t survive without all our volunteers! We have many options and opportunities for you to volunteer throughout the year – buildings and grounds, landscape and beautification, animal care on the farm, summer camp and kids programs and so much more. Please call the main office to sign up. 631-265-6768.

Junior Educator Program

The Smithtown Historical Society Junior Educator Program provides a unique opportunity for local teens to develop a wide range of skills while having fun and learning about and sharing in the history of Smithtown and the community at large. We are especially looking for young educators that can help with summer camp, school breaks and our Super Saturday programs in December. See below for information and application or give us a call with any questions.

Internships

The Smithtown Historical Society is offering internship and volunteer opportunities for students who wish to gain experience in curatorial work, collection management, or aiding in administrative duties. Internships are unpaid and are available to both graduate and undergraduate students for college credit. Depending on the length of the internship, it may be possible to incorporate several projects for a more expansive experience. To apply, please send a letter of interest and an updated resume to curator@smithtownhistorical.org
