May is military appreciation month here at the Smithtown Historical Society! Donate supplies and write letters to send our brave and selfless deployed troops. Portals to the Past Summer Camp 2018 is now open for registration. Weekly registration will introduce your children to various themes throughout the summer, from cooking, crafts and art, to Life on the Farm and Explorers Week . Join students and teachers from all over LI as they step back into the past for our annual Civil War Encampment! In conjunction with the LI Civil War Reenactors you will experience battlefield demonstrations and cavalry drills, see how campsites were set up and talk with soldiers from both sides of the conflict.
